So, if the text snippet above is any indication, you can see that we were all pretty excited to go see Harry Potter. Sniffle. It was the last one.
and yes, this is another post that is long long overdue! we saw the movie opening weekend.
mint lemonade from Rose’s Cafe
On the morning of the last HP movie D & I went through our typical Saturday morning routine… I went to Bar Method while he went to the gym, and then we met up at the Ferry Building for some lunch.
I had 10 minutes to spare before class so I hit up the Williams Sonoma summer sale… new oven mitts since I burned my other ones, washable picnic napkins that come on a roll, & cute new appie plates… summer sale success!!
Surprisingly we opted against the Primavera pickings for the day, and instead decided on Rose’s for sandwiches… that’s the pulled pork sandi with salsa verde above.
We were able to snag a table next to some fun balloons. But the fun had to end, and I headed into the office to study for a while. Boo. It can’t all fun and games. That’s okay though, because I had fun appies at Elli’s waiting for me later that night!
thanks Elli for having us all over before the movie!
and thanks for opening one of your wedding sparklers for us to cheers to!
cheers girls!!
Elli is plotting. I can’t say what about.
After our little cocktail hour we headed over to Benihana for our dinner entertainment before HP… Jeff was a little cranky since they weren’t ready for us yet, even though we had a reservation.
it was okay though, we were able to have another cheers
When they finally seated us Cassie had the bright idea to ask the lovely waitress to bring us two antifreeze cocktails. Oh wait, that’s not what they were called…. the blue ocean punch bowl, meant to be shared. And shared they were. By the guys. And Cassie. Elli and I were smart enough to refrain from the bright blue liquid!
danger danger
we heart blue punch and sapporo
it’s less blue when you add an instagram filter to it!
D & Sohrab were in a blue antifreeze race with Cassie & Jeff
I think it was a tie.
blue drinks put Jeff in touch with his sensitive side
So Benihana is actually really good. Yeah, I know it’s not super foodie or fancy, but it’s fun and tasty and a great excuse to get a group of friends together. We started with a brothy onion soup… delish.
the Benihana signature salad, tossed in a ginger dressing
say hi to our chef… he was great
The mustard sauce (on the left) is so delicious. So so delicious. Did i tell you it was delicious? Supposedly these are the recipes. D & I will have to try the mustard sauce sometime… I’ll let you know how it compares!
we started with the veggies…
onions and zucchini
and then the crowd favorite…
fried rice!
it really is yummy
then, lots and lots of meat
filet mignon, chicken, lobster, colossal shrimp, hibachi shrimp…
you name it, we ate it
again, yummy
and then some green tea to wash it all down
with our tummies full we headed off to the Kabuki theater for the movie…
SO EXCITED
There was a good crowd up at the Balcony Bar… luckily we had assigned seats that I had bought weeks and weeks before, so we didn’t have to worry about where we were going to sit… score!
Look at the fun drink specials… we didn’t partake though and bought wine instead. That’s part of the reason this theater is so fun… you can bring wine into the movie with you!
muggle excitement
muggle nerdiness
muggle 3D glasses
muggle wine
muggle coolness
I really liked the movie. It’s sad that it all has come to an end, but it was done well. I think they remained true to the book, even though now I want to reread them all, just to be sure!
