So, this post is so seriously delayed, but guess what? I kinda got to meet Ina. Well, I guess ‘meet’ is an overstatement – but I did get to go to a “Conversation with Ina Garten” book signing that Book Passage put on last year, where everyone got a signed copy of her newest cookbook and got to listen in on a conversation between Ina and Marissa Mayer. So cool.

I went with my fellow Ina fans, Susannah and Brianne

They had us write questions to submit for the Q&A after the presentation. The auditorium was jam packed, so we didn’t have much hope that any of our questions would be selected, but I asked what Ina would cook if it were her last meal on earth.

Marissa was late because she got stuck in traffic (per usual, supposedly) so Moira Forbes, who also happened to be there, started off the conversation until Marissa arrived. It was awesome. Moira discussed Ina’s early career path and how she ended up going from working in politics, to buying a specialty food shop in the Hamptons, to writing her own cookbooks and starting her TV show. It was fascinating. And then when Marissa arrived she talked about cooking techniques and her home in the Hamptons and Jeffrey. Just fabulous.

The coolest part of the night? Ina answered my question – it was the last one chosen! And  they ended up asking Moira & Marissa as well! Sorry the sound quality isn’t that great – my iPhone videography needs help.

Fabulous night – so happy I was able to go to this! Ina, I heart you! Keep being fabulous.
