I know this is a tad bit delayed, but I figure it’s better late than never, and I couldn’t not show you what fun we had at the Savor the Central Coast Food & Wine Festival!
I’m not the biggest festival fan… usually I find them massively crowded with mediocre offerings so I try to stay faaaaar away. Savor the Central Coast is different though… classier, with really amazing wineries & restaurants. This is definitely a must-do each year.
With so many different wines and food samplings to choose from it would have been impossible to try them all!
There were some standouts though… like the beet tartare shown above.
This Rubicon cabernet was incredible, plus I love the bottle.
I found a Schramsberg bubbly… awesome!
These happy folks were handing out a delicious lamb tagine drizzled with meyer lemon olive oil.
three words… brown butter cookies
actually, five words… sea salt brown butter cookies.
wine & cheese pairing at Le Vigne
boar ragu from Artisan, which I am dying to try
there were goats
and the cutest little chickens
I think this Lone Madrone Nebbiolo was my favorite wine of the day
Autumn and I enjoyed some Rose…
Safeway pizza… I didn’t even know they sold fresh dough! And I love any pizza with arugula on top. There even was a beer garden for those who wanted a break from the wine tasting… not me though, I really enjoyed being able to try so many new wines, and now having a couple new wineries to add to our list next time.
I can’t wait to come back next year! Who wants to join?!
