It was a weekend of eating.
First, a brunch at Bocadillos with the team from Foodbuzz… mimosas, artisanal cheeses with quince paste & walnuts, serrano ham drizzled with fruity olive oil, patatas bravas with a spicy dipping sauce, and of course breakfast bocadillos – I had the scrambled eggs with crispy serrano ham – not a bad way to start the day!
Then an evening spent at Fort Mason with some local San Francisco street food – Tacolicious, RoliRoti, Spencer on the Go, Pizza Politano, Curry Up Now, Mission Minis cupcakes, Straus Family Creamery organic ice cream, not to mention Bonny Doon Vineyard’s delicious Contra wine. My favorites included the Tacolicious Short Ribs Tacos, the RoliRoti Rotisserie Porchetta Sandwich, and the Curry Up Now Chicken Kahti Roll.
And finally an entire afternoon sampling some of San Francisco’s best – the star of the show goes to Frog Hollow Farm’s Warren Pears matched with Bellwether Farm’s Carmody cheese… the flavor combination is spot on. Other standouts were We Olive Olive Oil, Jaqk Wine Cellars wine, Three Twins ice cream, Jacob’s Creek wine, Mendocino Sea Salt & Seasoning Company, Mt. Beautiful wines, and Annie the Baker’s chocolate chip cookies.
Oh, and I want to mention my two new fabulous Foodbuzz friends, Wendy (on the right) & Angela (on the left)… I had so much fun with these two ladies – I hope they plan another SF trip soon! I was the lucky recipient of Wendy’s Hudson Valley goodie bag in the Foodbuzz gift exchange – she went all out: two types of granola, a cookbook from a Hudson Valley mediterranean restaurant, two types of local honey, cupcake liners in her blog’s background print, mulling spices & cinnamon sticks … amazing!! Thank you so much Wendy!

Hi Niki! It is so great to see all of your pictures!! I had so much fun with you and Angela at Foodbuzz! San Francisco was delightful! Maybe you will make it out here to the Hudson Valley in New York and we can hit the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park. xoxo
